Branding for D.Z. Euros
As the public relations commissioner for D.Z. Euros — the student sailing association for the University of Twente — one of the main focuses for my tenure was to improve the association's visual identity.
Here, you'll find the results in the form of a new viewbook, refreshed poster & flier designs, along with a new concept website.
— Re-Vision
I identified several points to improve the association's branding upon beginning in the position:
-  Use the association's official logo more prominently, including developing more materials using the association's color palate.
-  Modernize the feel of the association's brand. Graphic elements used in past promotions were stale and often quite simple.
Helvetica, used as the default typeface in much of the branding, didn't suit the character of the association.
-  Because sailing is a highly visual sport, use photography more often to immerse others in the association's activity.
- Apply the branding in a more consistent manner - retaining the same look and feel across a variety of media.

— Viewbook
A new viewbook captures the essence of the association & what it offers, detailing the boats in the fleet and outlining the variety of activities the association does. An online version can be viewed in English and Dutch.
Concept website
An updated website with an overhauled, strengthened visual identity brings together elements from the various printed pieces.
Current website challenges
The current website, shown below, has a dated look & feel. It relies on large blocks of text and low-resolution images (hallmarks of early-2000s web design). While the association is striving to appeal to students speaking English, the current site is only available in Dutch. The site also isn't engaging enough for prospective members.
Concept website
The concept website, shown below, uses the same updated visual style from the variety of recently-developed print promotional materials. It makes use of strong images and a modern design to appeal to potential new members. The site is designed to support dual languages.
A membership portal offers new functionality — members can now see past bills, order merchandise and make boat reservations.
